 - Why is Acoustic Power Measurement Necessary?

Acoustic Power Measurement
Acoustic power level is extremely useful for objectively comparing the acoustic output between different products.
Even without information about the test environment or the distance from the sound source, it can be used for product labeling, setting noise regulation limits, and verifying compliance.
Additionally, acoustic power level is independent of measurement environment or location, and can be used to calculate the impact on sound pressure levels at specific locations.
For example, an acoustic consultant may calculate the expected sound pressure level at nearby residences based on the acoustic power level when a particular piece of equipment is installed.
This enables assessments of whether the resulting noise complies with relevant regulations, considerations for noise reduction measures, and decisions regarding the selection of quieter equipment.
