- Simplified Performance Measurement Using an Anechoic Box and a Sound Level Meter
An anechoic box is suitable for acoustic measurements of small components and products. The test object (sound source) is placed inside the box, and sound is received by a microphone. The microphone is connected via a cable to an external sound level meter, which is used to perform the measurement.
Sonora’s anechoic boxes offer excellent sound insulation performance. With a proven internal background noise level of just 3.5 dB(A), they are highly compatible with HBK’s precision microphones and analyzers.

A high-precision measurement and analysis instrument.
Expandable with dedicated applications for building acoustics, FFT analysis, tone evaluation, noise and vibration measurements.
Equipped with 1/3-octave band analysis.
Compliant with IEC 61672 (JIS C 1509) Class 1.
Low-noise Microphone – Type 4955-A
A microphone designed for measuring extremely low sound levels, even below the noise floor of standard 1-inch and 1/2-inch microphones.
Compatible with Type 2270 analyzer and capable of measurements starting from 6.5 dB.
